Costa Rica, a favorite touristic destination despite Covid-19

Despite the fact that a deadly virus is darkening its brilliance, Costa Rica cannot be taken from the international minds.  Although people are quarantined in their countries, the thought of the tropical rainforest, the myriad of natural attractions, the stunning beauty of its beaches, and the relaxed friendly personality of the Costa Ricans continue to make many people dream.

The international media has recently posted good and varied tidbits of information regarding this Central American gem, as a favorite destination once the coronavirus crisis is over, praising Costa Rica as a “green destination”.

Among the media publications we can highlight Good Morning America, Lonely Planet, Condé Nast Traveller, The Times, Canadian Traveller, Profession Voyages,and  Forbes.

-ABC’s Good Morning America and The Times informed of the the Ashton family, of London, who after the unexpected cancellation of the desired trip to Costa Rica due to the virus, created their own tropical forest in thier home´s  basement. The story is being followed by millions.

-the Canadian Traveller reported their “Listening to the sounds of the tropical forest”, featuring the Arenal and Rincón de la Vieja volcanoes, biodiversity and Costa Rican fauna.

-Yoga and meditation sessions, and nature tours were also presented on Visit Costa Rica, (Costa Rican Tourism Board ) and on Take an Essential Moment (1)

Moreover, the Argentine tourism blog Voy de Viaje presented Costa Rica’s Zona de los Santos  for its scenic beauty and its high-quality coffee.(2)

It was  announced that the May edition of Condé Nast Traveler will show a report from Playa Nosara, in Guanacaste, nominated it in the category of International Destination for visiting in the future in the Gold List awards 2020.(3)

On April 11 and 20, respectively, Lonely Planet Trips on Instagram dedicated the “Photo of the Day” section to Costa Rica on 2 occasions, featuring destinations in Tortuguero and Monteverde.(4)

In social networks throughout Europe, the Costa Rican Tourism Institute has #TicoThursday!, in collaboration with Joe Wicks “The Body Coach TV” The recognized personal trainer in the United Kingdom, Joe Wicks of  “The Body Coach TV” visited the country and in collaboration with the Costa Rican Tourism Institute´s #TicoThursday!,  shared a presentation with his followers ( In social networks throughout Europe) (5)

Forbes featured a recipe presentation highlighting the enhancement of culinary skills during the quarantine.  It relates to bringing Costa Rica´s rescipes from scratch to homes.

This country  is still present in the minds of potential tourists who will surely return in the future…to forget that a quarantine was ever experienced.
